Privacy policy
Last updated November 2, 2026
UpdoHQ ("we", "us") makes booking software for hair and makeup studios. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and the choices you have. If you have a question, email [email protected].
Who this covers
- Visitors to updohq.com and people who join our early access list.
- Studios that use UpdoHQ, and their team members.
- Studios' clients (and their party) who use a studio's quote form, booking page, forms or party sheet. For this information the studio is in charge of it, and we handle it on the studio's behalf. Questions about it are best sent to the studio first.
What we collect
- Early access: your name, email, studio name, website or Instagram, team size and anything you tell us.
- Studio accounts: names, email addresses, studio details, and the bookings, forms, services and settings you add.
- Studios' clients: what they enter on a studio's forms and pages, such as names, contact details, event details, allergies or skin concerns, signatures and signed documents.
- Payments: card payments are handled by Stripe on the studio's own Stripe account. We never see or store full card numbers.
- Technical information: basic logs (such as IP address and browser) to keep the service secure and working.
How we use it
- To run UpdoHQ: create bookings, send booking pages, forms, reminders and confirmations, and generate signed documents.
- To contact early access members about UpdoHQ.
- To keep accounts secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
We don't sell personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Only with the services we need to run UpdoHQ, each bound to protect it:
- Hosting and storage (DigitalOcean)
- Email delivery (Resend)
- Card payments (Stripe), when a studio takes card deposits
We may also share information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep studio and booking information while the studio's account is open, so signed documents and records stay available to the studio. Early access details are kept until you ask us to remove them or we no longer need them.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, or stop hearing from us, by emailing [email protected]. If your information was collected by a studio, we'll work with that studio on your request.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit, private links are hard to guess, and studios can turn on two-factor sign-in. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell affected people if something goes wrong.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, let studios know.
